8 killed as vehicle plunges into gorge in Dehradun
Dehradun, June 25: Eight persons have been killed as a utility vehicle ferrying 15 people toppled into a gorge at Akhori village in Tehri district today.
The vehicle was travelling from Ghansali when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The accident occurred 30 kilometers from Ghansali towards Akhori, Tehri Senior Superintendent of Police Narayan Singh said.
Among those killed were four men and four women, apart from the driver. Seven others have been injured, six of whom have been admitted to a hospital in Ghansali. Singh said,"One person was critically injured and was taken to a hospital in Dehradun."
He further added,"The accident took place at 3 p.m. The bad condition of roads in the Akhori area could be a reason behind the accident. An enquiry is on."
