Sandalwood e-auction earns Rs 33.86Cr

Idukki: The two-day-long e-auction of sandalwood concluded at Marayoor sandal division in Idukki on Friday. This was the first time that the division is conducting e-auction and collected a total of 33.86 crore. As manly as 47,822.650 tonnes of sandal was sold during the auction.
The highest payment during the auction was Rs 16,800 for one kg of sandalwood.Of the seventeen firms that participated in the e-auction, Karnataka soaps purchased the most with 33,350 kg. The officials at the sandalwood division said that representatives of ten temples, two ayurvedic pharmacies and five frims participated in the e-auction.
