Documentaries screened at Bharat Bhavan
Bhopal: "Vratant", a three-day long event creening various documentaries got off at Bharat Bhavan on Friday.
These documentaries are based on the life maestros of various fields like music and dance who are less known. Three movies named Kalamandalam Gopi, Gangubai Hangal and Damyanti Joshi directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnam, Vijay Mule and Hakuman Saren respectively were screened.
The first movie was on the life of Kathakali classical dancer Kalamandalam and his life journey with his dance which also bagged the best short movie award in 2000.
Second movie was on the life of a renowned singer Gangubai Hangal. This movie is about Indian classical music and its richness. The last movie of the day was based on the life of famous Kathak dancer Damyanti Joshi, who took the dance form to the masses. tnn
