Ganja seized; two held

Government Railway Police have arrested two passengers carrying ganja in the Madurai-Punalur Passenger train while it was running between Valliyur and Nanguneri stations in the early hours of Friday.

Police enquiry revealed that T. Sathish Kumar (38) and S. Sasi Kumar (40) from Kottayam in Kerala had boarded the train in Madurai.

When Railway Protection Force personnel checked their bag on suspicion, they found two packets of ganja weighing about four kg.

They were produced before the Judicial Magistrate I here and remanded in judicial custody.
