Gnana Sai, the eight-month-old girl child suffering from liver ailment, who is daughter of farm workers Ramanappa and Saraswathi of Mulakalacheruvu mandal of Chittoor district, will be admitted to the Global Hospital in Chennai, for treatment and possible transplantation.

Mulakalacheruvu mandal tahsildar Amarendra Babu told The Hindu that responding to the news clippings about the girl's predicament, Madanapalle sub-collector Krithika Batra took it to the notice of the State government, and as per the assurance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu that the government would take up the girl’s cause, steps were initiated for the infant’s treatment.

It may be mentioned here that the couple along with their infant approached the Tamballapalle court of Madanapalle division on Thursday and appealed to the judge for grant of euthanasia to the girl, though the court had turned down the same.
