Gayatri Vidyapeeth student Rohit Yadav has brought laurels to the state by winning a silver medal in the prestigious Yoga Olympiad held in the national capital recently.
Rohit (11) performed more than 150 asanas in the Yoga Olympiad and has till date won many medals in various yoga events and competitions.
After returning from Delhi, the silver medallist at Gayatri Vidyapeeth, flagship educational wing of Gayatri Shantikunj, attributed his success to God, parents, teachers and regular practice.
Union Minister for Human Resources Smriti Irani had presented the silver medal to Rohit. She motivated him to win the gold medal next time while saying that he had impressed everyone through his yoga skills.
Gayatri Vidyapeeth spiritual ideologue Dr Pranav Pandya lauded Rohit’s talent and said concentration, determination and passion to excel in yoga made him an expert at a tender age.
“At Gayatri Vidyapeeth, Dev Sanskriti University and Gayatri Shantikunj, we have been focusing on spirituality, meditation, moral values, ayurveda and yoga. Lakhs of students, activists, volunteers, followers and outsiders are being trained in yoga. It’s an ancient art and the world is now realising its immense benefits,” said Pandya.
