The Fountain Utilities Department is on the cusp of reaching peak water demand, so the city has enacted water restrictions until further notice.

Fountain intends to only use surface water in an effort to preserve well-water “as a last resort to meet peak demand,” according to a city news release.

Water restrictions include:

  • City irrigation limited to Monday and Friday.
  • Even addresses residential irrigation limited to Sunday and Wednesday.
  • Odd addresses residential irrigation limited to Tuesday and Saturday.
  • Commercial and industrial irrigation limited to Monday and Friday.

Customers are encouraged to irrigate between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on their designated days.
