Gannaur MC gets new chief

Sat Prakash Sharma of Ward No 8 and Sunil Kumar of Ward No 12 were today elected chairperson and vice-chairperson, respectively, of the Gannaur Municipal Committee (MC). Gannaur SDM Sumita Dhaka was the Returning Officer.

Sources said Sharma, husband of committee’s former chairperson Neelam Sharma, defeated Neeru Adhlakha of Ward 14 by 5 votes and Sunil Kumar won over Babita from Ward 16 by 9 votes.

Ramesh Kaushik, BJP MP, and Kuldeep Sharma, Congress MLA from the Gannaur Assembly constituency, were also present.
