TV-actor trio’s joyride in the city

For TV actors Nakuul Mehta, Kunal Jaisingh and Leenesh Mattoo, who will play siblings in an upcoming show 'Ishqbaaz', the promotional tours were more like a party.
The trio was recently in Jaipur, where they went joyriding to places like Albert Hall, Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal, and of course, gorged on the local cuisine. Nakuul, who is from Udaipur, felt like home in the city, while Kunal and Leenesh took their time to discover the city and its people.

Nakuul told us, “We’ve been together for more than a year and have become very good friends.We couldn’t travel to all the cities together, but Jaipur was an exception. The time we spent here was amazing. I have my extended family here, but both Kunal and Leenesh have come for the first time. Being their big brother on the show, I took care of them and showed them around.”

Despite the scorching heat, the trio did not hold back from exploring the city. While crossing the famous Johari Bazaar, they stopped at a shop selling turbans. Leenesh told us, “I’d never been to a turban shop, so I thought I had to try it. While getting the turbans tied on our heads, I felt as if we were getting ready for a wedding. The leheriya turbans were so unique and beautiful, and say a lot about the culture of the city. They add flavour to any occasion. I want to learn how to tie one so that I can wear it for a family wedding.” Led by Nakuul, the trio visited all the famous historical monuments in the city and later had kachori and mirchi bada at Laxmi Mishthan Bhandar.

The story of their upcoming show Ishqbaaz is of three brothers Shivaay, Rudra and Omkaar, where Nakuul plays the eldest. He says, “The promo of the show has generated curiosity among the audience and people are speculating if it’s inspired from the Ramayan. But it has no similarity at all. It’s about three brothers, completely different from each other, but love each other immensely.” Talking about his character, he adds, “After playing a good boy for years, I will play a different character this time. There is a quirky side to the character, which I was a little anxious about initially. He is an arrogant, egoistic person with a distinctive character.”
