MU: Delay in govt nod likely to hamper PG admission process
Patna: The inordinate delay in getting a nod from the state government to start postgraduate (PG) teaching in 13 major subjects at B D College is likely to hamper the admission process this year. The Magadh University (MU) academic session begins from July every year. College principal P K Verma said the senate and the syndicate had approved the proposal to start PG teaching from the new academic session after proper inspection of the departments concerned.
“Several reminders were sent to the state government to give its final approval, but nothing happened,” he added.
Vocational courses: The state government is yet to give its approval to MU for admitting students to various vocational courses. The vocational cell coordinator recently met state education minister Ashok Choudhary in this regard.
Admission form submission: B D College has extended the last date for submission of forms in the Intermediate and Degree Part I courses till June 30. Principal P K Verma said admission to MBA and MCA was going on in the college.
Error in marksheets: MU has declared the results of Degree Part III courses (science and commerce streams), but errors have crept in the marksheets, causing resentment among students. While many science students were marked absent or awarded zero in Paper V, a few of them got blank marksheets. Patna MU branch OSD Asha Singh said, “We have directed the colleges to collect the pupils’ applications so that the university can issue fresh marksheets to them after proper verification.”
