Gujarat ATS to quiz 2 accused in 2,000-crore drug bust case

Two prime accused in the Rs 2000-crore drug bust case have been transferred to Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) to probe the mafia links and the cross-border activities. Manoj Jain, the former director of Avon Life Sciences pvt ltd and Punit Shringi, the consultant have been transferred to ATS as they are linked to the 13 kg ephedrine being seized from the outskirts of Ahmedabad on April 13 following a TOI report.

A senior police officer informed that they want to ascertain the trade route and involvement of others apart from Mamta Kulkarni and her husband Vicky Goswami.
Accused Kishorsinh Rathod, son of formed Congress MLA from Gujarat is presently absconding, but is commonly linked to the alleged drug cartel and was part of a meeting in Dubai on April 8, a cop said. “Rathod’s links with Gujarat cannot be ruled out and hence the duo are transferred to Gujarat ATS,” informed a police officer.
