Workshop on minority status benefits for Jain community

The Jain community has organized a workshop at the GMDC building on Saturday. This is to create awareness about the benefits of minority status which it has been accorded.

AHMEDABAD: The Jain community has organized a workshop at the GMDC building on Saturday. This is to create awareness about the benefits of minority status which it has been accorded.
Senior government employees will give out information on the benefits of minority status and what the community can receive from the government. They will also apprise community members of various schemes.
A Shah of the Minority Development Trust said, “About 300 community leaders have been invited to the workshop which will be also attended by senior government officials including the director of Minority Nigam, Dr Parshottam Harwani.”
He further said that special arrangements are in place for students who want information on how to get scholarships for higher studies and for studies abroad.
Also the officials will inform participants of the various benefits for businessmen and the documentation required to avail of these benefits.
The Jain community has also decided that they will facilitate members in filling forms and will help members by collecting and submitting them to the departments concerned.
