Dave Grohl shares story of duet with Taylor Swift at Paul McCartney's house

CANNES, France, June 24 (UPI) -- In a video posted to YouTube, former Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl shares a story about a duet he sang with Taylor Swift at a party at Paul McCartney's house.

While performing an acoustic set at Cannes Lions festival in France , Grohl recalled a recent party at McCartney's home where McCartney surprised guests with an impromptu performance.

"Just so you know," Grohl said, "Paul McCartney is the baddest mother[expletive] in the world."

After McCartney's show, partygoers turned to Grohl and requested he play a song as well.

Only, as Grohl explains, he can't play piano and all of McCartney's guitars are left-handed.

"And also," Grohl said laughing, "I maybe smoked a little pot."

As Grohl is questioning his capabilities, he says Taylor Swift – who was also in attendance – stood up and offered to play.

"I was like, oh thank God! Taylor Swift is here," Grohl said.

Swift sits down at the piano and starts to play while Grohl is attempting to figure out one of McCartney's left-handed bass guitars, when he says he realizes that the song Swift is playing is one of his own.

"I looked at my wife and was like, I know this song," Grohl said. "And she was [expletive] playing our song 'Best of You!'"

"As if I wasn't high enough," he said laughing.

Grohl ended his story by breaking into the same song, which was released by the Foo Fighters in 2004 and subsequently nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Song.
