BALRAM YADAV'S CASE

One of the most contentious issue which will require a lot of political dexterity will be the issue of Balram Yadav. Balram's son Sangram Singh is most likely to be inducted as a middle path to assuage both sides. This in order to find a middle path in which the ego of the CM is not offended as well as Balram Yadav is also not left in the lurch.

The issue of merger with Quami Ekta Dal had brought out the faultlines of the Samajwadi Party to the fore. Akhilesh Yadav was so livid with this development that he sacked his cabinet minister Balram Yadav over this and it also pitted Akhilesh Yadav against his uncle Shivpal Yadav.

It required political manoeuvring at the level of Mulayam Singh Yadav to bring a truce between Akhilesh and Shivpal. It was then decided that this merger will take place minus Mukhtar Ansari, as it will help party to focus on the issue of development. Party hopes that all these issues will be ironed out at the parliamentary board.
