Carcass of wild tusker found

The carcass of a wild tusker was recovered on Thursday near Rajiv Gandhi Orang National Park in Assam's Sonitpur district, a forest official said.

TEZPUR: The carcass of a wild tusker was recovered on Thursday near Rajiv Gandhi Orang National Park in Assam's Sonitpur district, a forest official said.
The carcass of the male elephant, aged about 45 years, was found in a paddy field at Phata Simalo in the Barchalla area, West Sonitpur divisional forest officer Diganta Borbora said.
The tusk was intact and cause of the animal's death is yet to be ascertained, he added.
