SMS Medical College takes Kanwatia hospital in its fold

Jaipur: With Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College taking over the functioning of Kanwatia Hospital, it will now get high-tech equipment, and provide better healthcare facilities with improved emergency services.
Earlier, Kanwatia hospital was under the medical directorate but now it has been taken over by medical education department.
Now, Kanwatia hospital is like any other hospital attached to SMS Medical College like Gangauri hospital, Zanana hospital and SMS hospital.
Kanwatia hospital will be developed like any other hospital attached to SMS Medical College.
Soon, CT and MRI machines will be installed in the hospital. Also, the SMS Medical College is planning to install digital X-ray machines.
But, the major change would be the emergency services provided by the hospital. Earlier, there were only general emergency services available in the Kanwatia hospital. But, now the hospital will provide emergency services in gynaecology and paediatrics too.
"The aim is to provide better health care services for the residents of the area. It will also help in reducing the load of patients from SMS hospital," Dr Mohan Meena, newly-appointed medical superintendent Kanwatia hospital said.
