Devaraja Sangeetha Sabha, in association with the Kerala Fine Arts Society, will organise a musical evening on Saturday, titled ‘Gurupranamam’, in which playback singer P. Jayachandran and his son Dinanath and daughter Lakshmi will render songs composed by G. Devarajan.

Mr. Jayachandran, who is also the patron of Devaraja Sangeetha Sabha, will be rendering the songs under the direction of M.K. Arjunan.

The singer will bring to life the musical journey of several songs that have become part of Malayalam lore. “Today’s generation has little patience to listen or even watch a three-hour-long film,” Mr. Jayachandran said. He added that he loved listening to songs of singers in several languages. “More than a singer, I am a connoisseur of music,” he said.
