Indore: The administration has planned to convert the old RTO building into Lalit Kala Akademi (LKA) or National Academy of Art. "Rampur Kothi will be converted into a gallery and exhibition centre of LKA after shifting," said the commissioner on Wednesday. LKA is an autonomous organization that was established by Government of India in New Delhi with a view to promote and propagate understanding of Indian art, in and outside the country.

Officials informed that they are planning to hand over the building to LKA and it would be LKA's first unit in Madhya Pradesh. "We are in talks with LKA regarding restoration of the Rampur Kothi," said an official, adding that the move will provide a platform to local artistes, and it will also promote fine arts in the region.
