Gandhinagar: Congress in-charge of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and All India Congress general secretary and former Union minister Gurudas Kamat, who had resigned on June 6, from the party citing personal reasons, has withdrawn his resignation and will continue with his Gujarat Congress responsibilities.
He had resigned after he was denied a Rajya Sabha seat.
Kamat, in his letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi said, "My meeting with my party president Sonia Gandhi helped me make up my mind. I will continue to serve under the leadership of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi. I will be meeting the people of my in-charge states starting tomorrow Friday, June 24, 2016 onwards," he further wrote.
