District Superintendent of Police Abhinav Khare has ordered a probe into the reported incident of policemen, including one from Mysuru, partying with the son of Minister for Public Works H.C. Mahadevappa.
Mr. Khare’s order comes after photographs of a sub-inspector working at T. Narsipur police station partying with Mr. Mahadevappa’s son Sunil Bose surfaced.
“I have asked the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Hunsur, to look into the matter and submit a report in one week’s time,” Mr. Khare told The Hindu .
Mr. Mahadevappa was recently appointed Minister in charge of Mysuru district, in place of V. Srinivas Prasad. Mr. Mahadevappa represents T. Narsipur Assembly constituency.
Summons
The photographs purportedly showing the policemen partying surfaced around the time a city court in Mysuru issued summons to Mr. Bose in a sand mining case.
The Third Additional District and Sessions judge has summoned Mr. Bose and his associate Raju in connection with a Lokayukta case booked against a senior geologist for demanding bribe to issue permit to transport sand six years ago. They are supposed to appear in court on July 5.
