The students of ‘Future Kids’ were educated on the Vanabharathi programme and elections on Thursday by the teaching staff and guests.

As most of the schools conduct model Parliaments or Assemblies to create awareness among their pupils, the Future Kids teachers had asked their students to go for model election. Academic head Harini gave directions on preparing the model ballot paper in different colours, ballot boxes and also arranging polling stations. Students participated with enthusiasm in the process to elect their president and vice-president through ballot.

School correspondents Ravi Babu and Vijaya said they wanted to do programmes differently to enlighten not only their students but also parents.

Under the Vanabharathi, the students planted saplings from their school to National Highway-16 and towards Pidimgoyyi gram panchayat adjoining to R&B road. About 400 students of higher classes took part for more than three hours in the morning session and pledged to ensure all the plants were protected and grown in a proper way. Deputy forest officer Trinath, DSP Ramakrishna, Deputy education officer Abraham and local leader Narni Vasu, industrialist R. Subba Raju participated.
