Traders protest ban on sale of fluid, thinner

SONEPAT: In protest against the district administration’s ban on the sale, purchase and storage of fluid and thinner, a delegation of the Sonepat Beopar Mandal, led by district president Sanjay Singla, today met city Magistrate Surender Doon and Civil Surgeon JS Punia and submitted a memorandum of their demands for the withdrawal of the order.

Sonepat, June 23

In protest against the district administration’s ban on the sale, purchase and storage of fluid and thinner, a delegation of the Sonepat Beopar Mandal, led by district president Sanjay Singla, today met city Magistrate Surender Doon and Civil Surgeon JS Punia and submitted a memorandum of their demands for the withdrawal of the order.

In the memorandum, Singla said the ban imposed by District Magistrate, Sonepat, KM Pandurang for three months had harassed booksellers, chemists, retail and wholesale dealers. Pawan Taneja, district spokesman for the mandal, said, “If the government wants to eradicate the problem of intoxication then it should ban the manufacturing of these articles,” he added.
