The Republic of Ireland's first game after Euro 2016 will come against Oman at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, August 31.

The game will form part of Martin O'Neill's preparations for Ireland's crucial World Cup qualifier against Serbia on September 5.

Ireland have met Oman twice before in friendly internationals - winning 4-1 in September 2012 and 2-0 in September 2014 - and this will be their second visit to the Aviva.

Managed by former Real Madrid boss Juan Ramon Lopez Caro, Oman are 99th on FIFA's World Rankings and recently finished second in their qualifying group for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Tickets details will be announced in due course and will count as the first fixture in the 2016/17 FAI Season Ticket package - find out more at faiseasontickets.ie
