CM Mamata Banerjee very talented, her paintings sold for Rs 1.86 crore: Abdul Mannan

All Trinamool MLAs tried to shout him down.

Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly, Abdul Mannan, on Thursday claimed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s paintings have allegedly sold for Rs 1.86 crore, causing an uproar among Trinamool Congress MLAs present in the House.

“Our CM is very talented. She had said that three strokes of her brush can fetch Rs 10 lakh and we have seen that her paintings at exhibitions have been sold for Rs 1.86 crore,” Mannan said. Soon, nearly all Trinamool MLAs tried to shout him down.

Following this, Speaker Biman Banerjee said it was an irrelevant statement and would be expunged. Later, when Mannan resumed his address, he said he would stick to the discussion on the Governor’s speech after making a small reference.

“There is a Trinamool MLA sitting right here who had earlier said ‘Kalighat er moina, shotto kotha koina (The mayna of Kalighat doesn’t speak the truth)’,” Mannan said, once again leading to a commotion. He was referring to the statement made by MLA Abdur Rezzak Mollah before he had defected to the Trinamool from CPM before the Assembly elections.

Soon, Trinamool MLA Manas Majumder was found coming dashing towards Mannan but he was stopped by Congress chief whip Manoj Chakraborty.
