UK Pound Rallies as Polls Predict 'Stay' Vote in Brexit Referendum
BELGRADE (Sputnik) — The United Kingdom's exit from the European Union would be a double blow to Serbia, Mihailo Crnobrnja, the leader of the European Movement in Serbia, said Thursday.

"We would suffer a double blow: on the one hand, the setback in the EU economy will equally affect us, as the European Union is our largest external trade partner… On the other hand, we would stay for longer in the EU waiting room, as Serbia's accession is not a priority any more," Crnobrnja was quoted as saying by Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).

On Thursday, British nationals are voting in a referendum to determine whether or not the United Kingdom should leave the European Union. Polling stations across the United Kingdom are open from 7:00 a.m. through 10:00 p.m. local time.

According to polls conducted before the referendum, the number of UK nationals who intend to vote for their country to stay in the European Union slightly exceeds supporters of the Leave campaign.

The European Movement in Serbia (EMinS) is an independent and voluntarily organization of the Serbian citizens. It was set up on November 24, 1992.
