Tiruppugazh expert and author of several books on iconography and Muruga cult, Valayapettai Ra. Krishnan has come up with ‘Muruga – The Embodiment and Valour’ – a comprehensive work in English on the worship of Subramanya and the different forms in which he is found.

Thorough research is evident in Krishnan’s body of work and this book, which has been on the anvil for the past two years with Krishnan’s brother, the late Ramaseshan, as the co-author, will not be an exception. The book is being released on Sunday, June 26, at Sri Kapaliswarar temple, Mylapore. The evening opens at 5 p.m. with Tiruppugazh rendition. V.Muthukumaraswamy, Joint Secretary (retd.), HR and CE will release the book. R. Mahadevan, Director, India Pistons, is the chief guest.
