Former Roma boss Rudi Garcia has said he feels he has an "open bill with the Serie A" and would therefore be open to the possibility of coaching AC Milan.
Milan are currently without a coach and a takeover deal involving Chinese investors has stalled while club president Silvio Berlusconi recovers from heart surgery in hospital.
No decision is likely to be made on an appointment before Berlusconi's return, with the surgeon who operated on him saying he will not be discharged before July 2.
Garcia is one of those linked with the position along with Cesare Prandelli, Frank de Boer, Marco Giampaolo and interim coach Cristian Brocchi.
The Frenchman told Resto del Carlino: "People are suggesting Milan because I once talked about the possibility of managing a club 'north of Rome' ... but Milan would certainly be an interesting and stimulating experience.
"I have an open bill with Italy: I would love to continue coaching in the Serie A. It's only June, though. There is no rush."
Asked to comment on the rumours suggesting Garcia could look to sign former Roma players such as Medhi Benatia or Gervinho, the 52-year-old joked: "Even before I sign myself?
"I've heard these rumours just like you have, but let's wait and see. I think Milan have other issues to solve first. But it's clear, I want an important league and an ambitious, interesting project: if something like that arrives I'll be happy."
