Punjabi University, Patiala would soon issue Letter of Intent (LOI) to 29 applicant B.Ed Colleges for the academic session 2013-14. University in principle has decided to issue LOI as all these colleges have required prerequisites for LOI with them. After LOI, the University Inspection team would verify the physical infrastructure including land, building, faculty, labs, library, furniture, fixture etc. After this verification and NCTE approval, the University would issue Letter of Approval  for admissions. 

This was said by Dr Jamshid Ali Khan, Dean, College Development Council, Punjabi Universiy, Patiala at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh today while inaugurating “Roshaan…..A cultural Extravaganza organised by Aryans group of colleges . Replying to another query Dr Khan said that 33 degree colleges are also in pipeline for academic session 2013-14. Dr Khan added that degree colleges are back in demand. He said that there was a time when degree colleges were not opted by the students and engg and management colleges were on top but with global meltdown again the conservative courses BA, B.Sc . B. Agriculture is getting momentum.Khan added that in recent survey conducted, it is seen that more than 84 affiliated colleges around 70 colleges are in rural area.He said that still there is lot of scope for more colleges specially in urban areas.
