After flyers’ body Air Passengers Association of India (APAI) wrote to DGCA seeking to know if it was mulling any action on ‘bogus’ schemes by airlines such as offering low fares to passengers, SpiceJet today said that low fares are perfectly fine during lean season.
Spicejet also added that it had a good FY16.
When asked about the company’s future plans, Ajay Singh, Founder, Spicejet said, “We will anounce acquisition of 100 narrow bodied aircraft in due course.”
The new Civil Aiation Policy should not let overseas destinations become a hub, he said when asked about his view on the policy.
SpiceJet yesterday rolled out a new scheme offering base costs as low as Rs 444 on some destinations on its domestic network with a select booking period and limited number of seats.
The five-day sale launched yesterday will be open till the midnight of June 26, the airline said, adding the travel period under the offer stands between July 1 and September 30.
The SpiceJet promo one-way base fare of Rs 444 are for select sectors, including Jammu-Srinagar, Ahmedabad-Mumbai, Mumbai-Goa, Delhi-Dehradun and Delhi-Amritsar routes.
