According to the Adgaon police, Abu Mohammad Gori, 21, of Surgana was driving his pickup truck at the Adgaon Naka cross road when he allegedly knocked down a motorcycle. Ramfal Kaushik (58) who was riding the motorcycle was killed on the spot while Joginder Singh (pillion) was injured in the accident that took place on Tuesday evening.
Another person was killed in an accident involving two vehicles near Abhinandan Lawns on Tuesday. Both the vehicles were running in the same direction when the driver of the vehicle ahead applied braked, causing the vehicle behind him to collide. Yograj Sudhakar Patil (29) received serious injuries and later succumbed to them.tnn
Two incidents of housebreaking
The police registered two cases of house breaking in the city with total goods worth Rs 1.12 lakh stolen. Resident of Venu Naad Apartment, Gangapur Road - Girish Joshi registered the case of house break-in that was noticed on Monday at 9.00 am when he came to open the shutter of his shop. The shutter was open and the goods worth Rs 61,700 were stolen from the same. In another case a complainant - Krishnakant Bihari - has registered the case of house-break-in that reportedly occurred on January 2, 2016. According to the complaint lodged with Gangapur Police, the complainant had moved out of the house - Archis Classic Resident, Untawadi Chowk - for some reason when someone broke into the house and decamped with an idol made in silver, grinder and other goods worth Rs 50,300.
Mobile, goods stolen
A mobile and goods worth Rs 27,000 were stolen from the driver of the bus that had been parked in Chakradhar Swami Mandir, near Ramkund in Sunday night. The driver, Munna Mohammed Salim, was sleeping when someone picked up the mobile, goods and cash worth Rs 27,000 and fled the scene. Similarly a mobile phone worth Rs 7,000 was stolen from the house of complainant at Makhmalabad, Panchavati. Both the cases were registered with Panchavati Police station.
