New filters at swimming pool

Municipal Commissioner S. Nagalakshmi inaugurated new filters at NTR Swimming Pool in Ravindra Nagar here on Wednesday. The new filters costing Rs. 5 lakh would be used to purify water in the swimming pool.

NTR Stadium secretary Damarcharla Srinivasa Rao said the old filters were fitted 14 years back and had to be dismantled. The swimming pool was built in 2002 and there are 400 members in the pool.

The Commissioner said more facilities would be provided in the swimming pool and a 50-metre international swimming pool would be constructed to host national and international competitions. The NTR Stadium was constructed in the year 2002 at Brundavan Gardens has developed into a popular stadium with an indoor shuttle court and gymnasium.
