LAHROE: JI Amir Siraj ul Haq has said corruption has become as widespread as the taking of ‘selfies’ in the country. “Now school children also say corruption is root cause of all evils. If some thing has become famous in the country after the selfie, it is corruption,” he said this in a statement issued here Monday from Mansoora. “Jobless youths are victims of immense frustration in the country. Our society has been divided into two parts: the Pakistan of the haves and the Pakistan of the have nots,” he added. Corruption is rampant at all levels in the country, he maintained, adding that the people were worried over the attitude of the government. A commission regarding the Panama leaks was yet to be formed, and no steps had been taken to bring back plundered money from offshore accounts. The present and former governments needed to be held accountable, he demanded. “We have demanded in National Assembly that plea bargain policy should be abolished. We are not inviting those involved in Panama leaks, London leaks and Dubai leaks but we are inviting corruption-free political parties to participate in anti corruption March”, he held. Some political parties want only Nawaz Sharif be held accountable, he said, while the government believed all should be held accountable with the exception of the prime minister. JI believed that everyone should be held accountable, he remarked.
