DYNAMOS assistant coach Murape Murape says indiscipline that continues to rear its ugly head in their camp could derail efforts by the Harare giants to get their campaign back on track this year.

The Glamour Boys yesterday watched as bitter rivals Highlanders, who last won a league title 10 years ago, soared to the top of the league table after beating Border Strikers 2-0 at Barbourfields.

Bosso lead the race while CAPS United are now in second place.

Dynamos have had a bad start, but are coming from two wins in succession against Chapungu and Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Speaking ahead of their match against Harare City, Murape yesterday said the side was poised for more success, but the technical department was worried by the wayward behaviour of some players.

The former DeMbare skipper hinted there are some players undermining the authority of the Lloyd Mutasa technical team.

It appears the same issues were raised by Portuguese mentor Jorge Paulo Silva.

Murape could not single out the players involved, but said they will not tolerate indiscipline.

His statements come against the backdrop of an embarrassing incident in their last match against Ngezi when Stephen Alimenda and Rodreck Mutuma clashed over a free-kick and were both booked by referee Ruzive Ruzive.

“Our main worry is the lack of discipline among some of the players. The rest of the guys are doing quite okay, but there are few others who think they can do whatever they want and get away with it.

“They believe they are indispensable, but that is a wrong attitude and as a team we would want to correct that. Everyone should know that no one is bigger than the club.

“There are many players who have done well in the past yet they kept cool heads and are still being respected up to now.

“So what I am saying is that Dynamos is a big club and everyone is always looking even at the smallest things that happen at the team.

“Players must be disciplined and they must respect authority. You don’t have to be a Pep Guardiola or a Jose Mourinho to get the attention of the players. It’s so sad if you try to instil discipline then someone responds in a funny way.

“Somebody does something wrong, comes back to training and is not even remorseful.

“But then we should know and understand that what we do at the ground is what happens on the pitch. You play the way you train. If you are a negative influence the whole week then what guarantees do you have that you will suddenly become positive on the pitch.

“So for the sake of progress we will not be afraid to make changes to the team and no one should cry foul. We will only play those who are positive, those who want to play.”

Dynamos beat Ngezi Platinum 2-0 in their last match courtesy of goals from skipper Augustine Mbara and Mutuma.

They moved into eighth place with 14 points. Their opponents Harare City were also notching up their second win in as many games under Dynamos son Moses Chunga who was appointed three weeks ago to turn the side’s fortunes around.

Only one points separate the sixth-placed Sunshine Boys and Dynamos on the log standings.
