YSR Congress MP, MLAs and party functionaries staged a “Save Democracy” rally on Wednesday alleging violation of protocol in Kadapa district.

Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy and MLAs S. Raghurami Reddy (Mydukur), S.B. Amjad Basha (Kadapa), G. Srikanth Reddy (Rayachoti) and K. Srinivasulu (Railway Kodur) who took part in the rally accused officials of setting aside protocol rules by not intimating or involving them in official programmes.

The district officials were ignoring the elected representatives of the Opposition party and conducting programmes by accommodating ruling party leaders who lost in the last elections on the dais, they said.

They resented foisting of cases on Opposition party leaders and activists for exposing corruption. Kadapa district YSRC president A. Amarnath Reddy, Zilla Parishad chairman Guduru Ravi, Kadapa Mayor K. Suresh Babu and party activists participated.
