Woman kills self; 2 booked

A 30-year-old woman Pooja Devi (30) of Satiriyala village falling under Chawari police station in Chamba district set herself on fire at her residence yesterday. She was rushed to the Dr Rajendra Prasad Govt Medical College at Tanda where she was declared brought dead by the doctors this morning, the police said here.

The police said Pooja, who had been married to Abinav 12 years ago of Satiriyala village, had allegedly set herself on fire. Deena Rani, mother of the victim, lodged a complaint that Pooja was being tortured by her husband Abinav and mother-in-law Champa Devi which forced her to commit suicide.
