Two stabbed to death
A youth, who was stabbed allegedly by one of his friends in Kushtia town on Monday night, died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) yesterday morning.
The deceased, Yasin Arafat Laltu, 22, son of Alamgir Hossain, was a resident of Chairman Road in the town.
Deceased's family members said one Liton of the same area stabbed Laltu allegedly over a previous feud on Monday night.
Locals took him to Kushtia General Hospital, from where he was later shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. He died at the hospital around 6:30am.
Officer-in-Charge Sahabuddin Chowdhury of Kushtia Model Police Station said none had lodged any complaints in this regards till filing this report as of 6:00pm yesterday.
Away in Daulatpur upazila, a youth was stabbed to death allegedly by one of his relatives at Daripara village in the upazila early yesterday.
The deceased is Janarul Islam, 32, of the village.
Quoting witnesses police said few days ago Janarul borrowed some money from one Rafiqul Islam of the village.
The duo locked in an altercation over repaying the money around 1:00am. At one stage, Rafiqul stabbed Janarul with a knife, leaving him critically injured.
Family member took him to Daulatpur Upazila Health Complex, where the doctors declared him dead, Officer-in-Charge Shahidul Islam of Daulatpur Police Station said.
