Extortion call to Ratanpur mukhiya

Some unidentified criminal has asked the newly elected mukhiya of Ratanpur panchayat in Supaul district, Sanjeev Kumar alias Mantu, to pay Rs10 lakh extortion or face the consequences.

Patna: Some unidentified criminal has asked the newly elected mukhiya of Ratanpur panchayat in Supaul district, Sanjeev Kumar alias Mantu, to pay Rs10 lakh extortion or face the consequences. Mantu was also attacked while going to take oath on Tuesday.
It was only on June 10 when a newly elected mukhiya, Poonam Devi, was shot by three unidentified assailants at Harnaut market in Nalanda, the home district of CM.

Ratanpur PS in-charge Vinesh Kumar said an FIR was lodged in this connection on Tuesday. "The mukhiya received the first extortion call on Monday morning and the second call in the evening," he said. TNN
He said the act may be out of political vendetta. "The mukhiya has not suspected anyone though police quizzed him twice in this connection," he added.
