Jose Mourinho's bid to bring Willian from his former club to Manchester United looks to have been halted with the Brazilian set to sign a new deal.
Mourinho, who was sacked by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich for a second time in December 2015, is believed to be keen to bring the club's player of the year to United.
Having snatched the 27-year-old from Tottenham's grasp in 2013, the Portuguese is looking now to steal him away from Chelsea.
But reports of a potential four-year deal on the table for Willian, who was Chelsea's only standout player in an underwhelming campaign last year, could end Mourinho's hopes.
The new United manager has already strengthened the squad by bringing in defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
He is also reported to be keen on out-of-contract Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
