A Malden man was arraigned Wednesday in connection with the drowning death of a 26-year-old who was pulled from the Charles River. Watch reportState police said they responded to a recreational dock near the Massachusetts Avenue Bridge for a report of a man in the water Tuesday evening. The 26-year-old man, later identified as Mitchell Harrison, was pulled from the river around 5:20 p.m. and taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital. He died overnight, police said."It was an accident," Harrison's friend, Lenny Quintero-Flores, 27, said on his way into Charlestown District Court. "I was playing around I pushed him into the water."Police said the men had been drinking alcohol on the dock when the victim either fell asleep or passed out. Police say Quintero-Flores, 27, admitted pushing Harrison into the water, but said he didn't know his friend was unconscious at the time."I do apologize," Quintero-Flores said outside court.Quintero-Flores was charged with manslaughter and is set to return to court July 22. Get the WCVB News App

State police said they responded to a recreational dock near the Massachusetts Avenue Bridge for a report of a man in the water Tuesday evening.
