Professor B.P. Mahesh Guru,who teaches at the Department of Communications and Journalism, University of Mysore has been jailed for allegedly insulting Lord Rama.

He was arrested after a case was registered against him for allegedly insulting the Hindu god at a conference in 2015.

The professor already has a complaint filed against him for allegedly using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani and former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Check out his hillariously offensive antics here.

An employee of a private firm has lodged a complaint with the Dariapur police regarding a theft of Rs 4 lakh. Prahlad Patel, 67, alleged that someone stole the money from the storage compartment of his two-wheeler while he had stopped to have some bhajiyas.

According to the complaint, Patel who works at Aluminum Section in Ashtamandal Complex in Madhavpura, collected Rs 4 lakh from an angadia pedhi (courier firm) in Dariapur on June 3. Read here!

The prices of a number of popular items on India's largest e-commerce website Flipkart has gone up by 15 to 20 percent. This is because a number of sellers on the online platform has increased the prices. 

Around 1,574 sellers are also holding an #OnlineDharna against Flipkart's move to increase commissions by 10-40 per cent. Recently it had also reduced the period for returns on products (electronics, smartphones and books) from 30 days to 10 days. But why the price rise? We explain here.

The relatives of a Noida woman created chaos at the B R Ambedkar Multi Speciality Hospital in Noida after the doctors handed over a single child to them, while her ultrasound reports had shown she was pregnant with twins.

The incident happened on Monday after Sangeeta Devi, a resident of Noida gave birth to a girl child. 

Her family said ultrasound tests from the same hospital and a private clinic had suggested that she was carrying twins.  Read more here

5. IT Superpower India Is Still Stuck At 3G, While America's Already Moving On To 5G!

5G wireless is coming to American airwaves, a top telecom regulator told international media.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman Tom Wheeler announced he would propose a vote in July 2016 to free up spectrum for 5G, which will power autonomous vehicles, smart cities, remote medicine and other innovations.

"If the United States is going to continue to be a world leader in wireless, we need to speed the deployment of 5G, here, on our shores," Wheeler said in a National Press Club speech. Read more here
