The Deputy Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr. Nazir Ahmed Gurezi has asked the officers to implement centrally sponsored schemes strictly for achieving better results in upgradation of public utility infrastructure.Chairing a meeting of Rural Development Department officers held here today, the Deputy Speaker said that MGNREGA, IAY and other centrally sponsored schemes guarantee upliftment of socio-economic condition of the people especially living in far off and hilly areas.Reviewing the physical and financial achievement registered under MGNREGA, IAY and other schemes in Gurez Tehsil, the Dy Speaker asked the concerned officers to achieve full targets in the tehsil under these schemes. He said that all villages should be covered under MGNREGA, which would prove beneficial in upgrading basic facilities besides socio-economic development of the villagers.The Director, Rural Development Department, Mr. Tassaduq Jeelani briefed the Dy Speaker about the works taken under different schemes in Gurez Tehsil during this fiscal. He assured the Dy Speaker that ongoing works in the tehsil would be completed in a stipulated time frame.
