In Crisis of Character, a new book written by Gary J Byrne, the Secret Service officer that served as "the last barrier before anyone saw Bill Clinton" when he was in office, wrote that not only were there other women making personal appointments with the president, but the star of the infamous sex scandal was furious upon finding out he was splitting his time.

According to Byrne, TV reporter Eleanor Mondale, the daughter of former Vice President Walter Mondale, often led Clinton into "a compromising position... making out on the Maps Room table."

The agent recalled a colleague telling him that one night, Lewinsky arrived at the White House gate in hopes of meeting the president. She said she was meeting with the president's personal security, but Byrne reported that the officers at the gate would understand who she had really come to see.

But, that night, the president's secretary told the gate officer to have Lewinsky wait: "The president is still with another appointment."

"Monica, however, still regarded herself quite favorably as the president's singular mistress, so now she was pissed off," Byrne wrote. "She pressed the officer about the delay and wanted to know why she was left standing in his security booth."

When the security guard told Lewinsky that she would have to wait, and Clinton was with another woman, she responded while making a gesture at her body: "What's he want with her when he has this?"

Despite the rumors, Mondale insisted she was "just friends" with Clinton.

Byrne alleged there were more mistresses, including a White House receptionist.

"We wondered how he got any work done and joked that he would have been better at running a brothel in a red-light district than the White House," Byrne wrote.
