RTE: Final list shows only 65% seats reserved
As per the final list of education department, only 65 per cent (658) seats have been reserved from 1017 private, unaided schools under Right to Education (RTE) admission this year which is far behind the number of seats registered for admission last year.
The number of schools registered for RTE admission this year, has also gone down significantly as last year over 2500 private schools were registered under RTE from Indore.

A total of 210 schools from Indore urban- 2 and 169 from Indore urban- 1 have been given recognition for the admission this year by the education department. Similarly, 236 schools from Indore rural, 144 from Depalpur, 118 from Mhow and 140 from Sanwer have also been given recognition by the department.
301 schools from the recognized ones did not lock the seats for RTE admission this year till date owing to various reasons.
The online application process for the RTE admissions will begin from June 23 onwards till June 30. The first online lottery will be held on July 7.
However, the mapping process of schools for the admissions is still going on and till date 959 schools have been mapped.
“Now when the schools have declared the seats reserved under RTE, parents can apply for a school which falls in 3 km radius from their house,” said Zila Panachayat CEO Varadmurti Mishra.
“Parents can select the school they want to apply in and approach the school, nodal officers or BRC’s for online application of their child along with valid documents,” added Mishra.
Schools had to keep 25 per cent seats of their entry level class vacant for the RTE admissions. After a delayed first phase, the education department is now trying to rush with the admissions as the delay has become a cause of concern for the parents as well as the schools.
