Vadodara:

Vadodara based Parul University has in a statement parted way with outgoing founder president Jayesh Patel. According to new president of Parul University Devanshu Patel who is son of Jayesh Patel, the university declares itself disassociated with Dr Jayesh Patel and Parul University has nothing to do with case filed against him.

Devanshu Patel said the university is presently run by two able women Dr Parul Patel and Dr Gitika Patel(wife of Devanshu Patel).

He said the allegations in media are against one person and he has been removed from the post of President of university. Personal allegations against him can’t be associated with university.

It should be mentioned here that Parul University has 25,000 students across its 16 colleges. It has 150 acre campus in Vadodara and centers in various countries to attract foreign students. There’s in-campus hostel facility for over 5,000 students.

The university which had emerged one of the leading private universities in Gujarat was spending crores of Rupees for its branding across India and abroad for last few years, but recent incident in which university’s founder president has faced rape charges has affected university’s image adversely.

In fire fighting measures, first it was declared that Jayesh Patel has stepped down from the post of President and later the university has disassociated itself from Jayesh Patel.

Dr Jayesh Patel, founder president of Parul University has been booked by local police under rape and other charges on complaint filed by PU’s nursing students who was living in hostel facility in campus. Jayesh Patel was on run ever since complaint was filed against him. However he was caught by police last night in his car in central Gujarat. Police is going to seek his 14-day remand in court.
