The World Yoga Institute Europe in collaboration with Art of Living, Bhartiya Yog Sansthan, Swami Baba Ram Dev Ji, , Brahm Kumari’s, Sports Council, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and various social and Yoga related organizations, organised 2nd International Yoga Day at M.A. Stadium Jammu here today.This was first of its kind event in the state which was aimed at to bring all people on one platform.Union MOS, PMO, DONER, Youth affairs & Sports, personnel, Pension and Public Grievances, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jatinder Singh, inaugurated the grand event .Pertinently, the first International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June, 2015 after declaration of 21st June as the International Yoga Day by the United National General Assembly in Dec, 2014 with the concurrence of over 190 Countries including 40 Islamic Nations.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jatinder Singh termed this mega event as historical which has become possible due to the keen interest of Prime Minister, Narinder Modi who has made the whole world recognize the contribution of our saints and sages in Yogic Science (Yoga). He said that the Yoga has enormous benefits for human body irrespective of caste, creed or colour. The celebration of Yoga is first of its kind in the sports history and as many as 100000 Gramin Districts are celebrating this “Mega event” today across the World. He further added that it has turned up to be a “Jan Sampark Diwas” from East to West and from North to South.Highlighting importance of Yoga in today’s exhausted lifestyle, the Union Minister said that this has been universally acknowledged as the best treatment for almost all diseases, cancer, diabetes, obesity, arthitis etc adding if practiced  regularly it eradicates mental stress and keeps the body, mind and intellect fit.

Health & Medical Education Minister, Bali Bhagat, Industries & Commerce minister, Chander Prakash Ganga  and M.P. Jugal Kishore also spoke on the occasion.Director General Nehru Yuva Kendra, Retd. Major General Dilawar Singh and Dr Abdul Kabir Dar Director General (ISM) Ayush (J&K State) were also present on the occasion.World Yog Guru and Chairman World Yoga Institute Europe, Karan Singh, son of the soil, who made a big contribution in holding such an event, assured that possibilities will be explored to constitute a branch of World Yoga Institute Europe in J&K to extend its enormous benefits to the youth.
