A new flavour of music is brewing in
Tulunadu. Titled Dosthi, this new album is said to be the first multi-genre Hindi album from coastal Karnataka. The 11 tracks of the music album dabble in genres like pop, rock, reggae, club mix, slow ballad, dandiya, tapang and
Bollywood, while they also maintain the essence of Tulu and
Konkani notes in the songs.
According to composer Loy Valentine Saldanha, Dosthi is an attempt to do something new and experimental, and shift the spotlight to music in the coastal belt.
'It is a dream project, in which we have brought on board a set of new musicians and singers. The Konkani and Tulu flavours make the album unique, while we strive to reach out to as many music lovers as possible across the nation.' he says.
The songs are written by Melwyn Antony D'souza, while the singers include Munita Velgas Rao, Rithesh Kumar, Savitha Puttur, Aurvile Rodrigues and Sandesh Kumar.
