Afghanistan will get India’s full support in strengthening defence capabilities: Syed Akbaruddin

Akbaruddin said that such groups should not be allowed to exercise control and wield influence over any part of Afghanistan’s territory.

India’s permanent representative to the United Nations Syed Akbaruddin on Wednesday said Afghanistan will receive the country’s full support in strengthening its defence capabilities.

“Afghanistan has our full support for strengthening its defence capabilities to preserve its unity and territorial integrity, Akbaruddin said, adding that “groups that perpetrate violence against Afghanistan people and that government can’t have safe havens.

Akbaruddin, who earlier served as spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs, also said that such groups should not be allowed to exercise control and wield influence over any part of Afghanistan’s territory.
