In a judgment aimed at cleansing the tainted Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday directed the State government to select persons “with track record of integrity, fairness and intellectual competence” to the posts of KPSC’s chairperson and members through a search committee as recommended by the P.C Hota committee report.
The court said the Hota Committee’s recommendations will have to be strictly followed both by the government and the KPSC till they frame new rules or amend the existing rules to give effect to these recommendations.
