NLC unveils 17 yoga centres

The Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) celebrated International Day of Yoga-2016 on the theme “Healthy India.”

Sarat Kumar Acharya, NLC CMD, formally inaugurated the celebrations at Lignite Hall, Neyveli and unveiled the plaques of Yoga Training Centres in and around Neyveli.

In his International Yoga Day Message, Mr. Acharya stressed the importance of yoga in day to day life. Yoga is not only for preventive health care, but presents a holistic approach which interconnects mind, body and soul.

NLC inaugurated 17 Yoga Training Centres under its CSR initiatives (including one in Barsingsar Project, Rajasthan, and one in NTPL Project Thoothukudi). Rakesh Kumar, Director (Finance) and Subir Das, Director (Mines) and V. Thangapandian, Director (Power) participated.

Senior officials, employees, representatives of trade unions and associations and school children from various schools attended the programme. All participants were given a practical session on yoga under the supervision of NLC yoga faculty.

S. Sridhar, CGM/PR, Edn. & CSR said the newly inaugurated yoga centres were free for all and would function for three hours in the morning and three hours in the evening. Anyone can get registered using Aadhar/Voter ID cards.
