Pragati Engineering College gets autonomous status

The University Grants Commission has accorded autonomous status to Pragati Engineering College at Surampalem. Receiving the communication from V.S.S. Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, here, college chairman Paruchuri Krishna Rao said a team of officials from the UGC had visited the college last month and inspected infrastructure, facilities, faculty and the teaching methodologies. “Based on the report submitted by the committee that visited the college, the UGC accorded the status of autonomy, ” he said.
